Hello everyone, i hope you survived Chritsmas, i`ll be posting a series of sketches i`ve made trough the years, some are like 10 years old (man i`m old) i was looking for something in one of my boxes (i keep a lot of stuff in boxes) and i found the folder where i keep most of my sketches, finished and unfinished hand drawn pieces, different kinds of papers and my new sketchbook, in which i`ve only drawn 2 pages.

I took that out and scanned some of the pieces to share and make some digital illustrations, and maybe, just maybe, finish some of those hand drawn pieces :P

Some of the content of the folder, the Mona Lisa thingy is a sketchbook i bought from a friend. I`ll share the only things i`ve made on it:

I started making this quite right and ended it really lazy, you can see that on the lettering.

This is an unfinished self portrait from when i had black hair back in May, i love this one, i should finish it or something.

I`ll share a whole lot more of sketches and hand drawn pieces, but in different posts, that way i have more material for my blog since i won`t be making any pieces soon, because i forgot my tablet at work and i`ll go back in mid January or so.

This is the latest piece i`ve made from the "Lolitas Die Harder" series, is based on an old illustration i made like in 2005 when i first started digital illustration in Macromedia Freehand, that was a fiiiine software :)
I don`t why i hadn`t posted this yet, i made it like 5 months ago.

Creatures 2 Suki modified version

creatures 2 suki modified

As i said in the last post i wasn`t satisfied with the eyes of this piece, i moved a little bit the right eye (the one under the eyepatch)  as well modified some of the shading around it and the blood splatter, i think it looks much better.

Creatures 2 Suki

So, i promised a friend that i would do an illustration inspired on her, she has a lot of freckles, dark brown hair, light brown eyes ETC.  This is the best i came up with:

creatures 2 Suki

I started making it like 2 months ago, and then got lazy about the piece, i don`t like to make portraits of random people, but yesterday i decided to change the face a bit, and make it look more doll-ish. I`m not completely satisfied with it, specially the eyes, the piece is really big, so i went overboard with the textures on the eyes, and when i reduced the piece into a web size they ended up looking quite weird, that`s the only thing that bothers me about this piece, i really like the hair and the t-shirt.

Old sketch

I started making this piece like 4 years ago, i found it 3 years ago and made the hair, haven`t touch it since then. It was part of a series made in square papers, with color pencils and a sharpie, i should post the other 2 or 3, since i`m not making anything new these days.

This is one of the last pieces from the "Lolitas Die Harder" series i`ve made this year, and it`s my favorite.
I haven`t posted anything in a month :( i`ve been busy sewing lolita clothes, and i`ve started a lot of pieces and never finish them (as usual).

Hello everyone i designated a Facebook profile mostly for my artwork, i didn`t feel comfortable creating a fan page, maybe in the future but not RN;  i won`t post a bunch of personal stuff or drama there in case you don`t want to know too much about a stranger´s life.

Feel free to add me Here  I also added the FB button to the sidebar.

Creatures 1

Finally started with this project, i`ve been working on sketches for it since january and between yesterday and today i made this piece.

First of all until last week i was truly determined to quit illustrating, but last monday i read a really inspiring text from an illustrator i look up for, and i decided to battle my fears in this field, hence this is the first illustration i`ve ever made using only brushes in Photoshop, i`ve always been scared of this technique, i thought i may not be good at it and never tried it, until now.

My usual technique is more controlled, i use a lot of paths and blur, but this time i let myself go, and i love the result!. And this is the sketch (although i looks a bit different):

At first i wanted to make like a retro style cartoons, but with time the aesthetics for this line changed, and my latest sketches look nothing like this one, which is one of the first i made.

First of all, this one has nothing to do with the new Batman movie, i made it like 3 months ago and i was thinking about the 60´s Batman with the eyebrows drawn over the mask XD i love that!

This is my favorite piece from all the LDH material i`ve ever made!

The long legged bunny twins

This is another piece i made like 2 months ago or less, i tend to forget dates and stuff really fast. I love their faces because they are wearing less make up than the usual LDH girls.
And you can always check my pieces bigger at my Flickr.

Fashionista in Technicolor No.5

I made a new piece this past week to test the new Adobe Photoshop CS6, and it is quite amazing, new tools, features, really fast, and the best of all: It´s BLACK! kekeke

This is the third piece from this line i´ve posted here, but i started making the number 3 and never finished, and made number four but i didn´t like it, maybe it´s because these girls are too different from my usual dolls, i don´t feel too inspired with this concept anymore. I think i added too much noise to the background, or it´s just the .jpeg format, i don´t know.

Some screen caps of the process for you to appreciate the PS CS6:

Hello everyone i haven´t posted in a while because i´ve been in a bad mood, but finally i saw the light and realized that i don´t gain anything with been depressed all the time.
At least i´ve done a lot of new pieces, thanks to my re-found love for the "LDH" style. Here is this lovely girl, i really liked the result of the branches i made for my "Afterlife No.6" piece, and i decided to make more and more and more branches XD

You can follow me on twitter, i always post WIPs and stuff first there.

Edit: i forgot to say that i surpassed the 5,000 views a while ago, thanks you so much!

Caramel Circus in the Sky

Hi everyone, these days i`ve been at home, well somewhere i moved out from my apartment and stuff, and i was looking through my "LDH" archives and i had a lot of unfinished pieces, but i really don`t feel comfortable with that style anymore, so i decided to change it a bit, add more texture and volume, and details, etc.

And i finally had the chance to use one of the sketches i made this year: the giraffe one :)

As someone told me my screen caps weren`t enough, i`m going to post a bunch of my digital painting process for this giraffe, but this is just for this style, depending on which line i`m working on, my digital painting process is different.

Here i am tracing the giraffe in Adobe Illustrator:

Basic painting in Photoshop:

Started giving it texture:

Then i used the picture of a giraffe for color reference:

Here is the basic giraffe finished:

Then i made pearl by pearl because i wanted the order uneven:

And this is a (cool XD) sketch of the position and details i wanted for the doll, i already had her very clear in  my mind i just needed a size and position reference:

Working on the face:

Finished doll:

Working on the scenario:

Then i felt that i needed to add that flag somewhere because i have made it already:

Finished piece:
Caramel circus in the sky
I kind of like it, it`s very high res in every detail but the quality here looks a bit off :s but click the picture and watch it in full size in Flickr
Hope you like it :)

Illustrated Lolita book + Afterlife No. 6 (finally!)

Hello everybody, i participated in an illustrated book based on Lolita Fashion with one of my pieces from the "Afterlife" line, here it is:

afterlife No.6

I hadn`t posted it before because the book was still in process, but now it is finished and you can find it here:

My page, and you can also find a little picture of me and info in the credits section:

And mmm yeah...purchase it if you want to, and i`ve been working on several new pieces from the LDH line, i guess these are like "LDH 3.0" i`ve changed some things but they still look lovely :)

Don`t know when i`ll be posting again, i`m moving (again) to a different place and i`m not sure if i`ll have internet connection there.

Afterlife No. 7: Wednesday Addams

So well hello there, just kidding, i was hit by a motorbike 3 days ago and i`ve been in my house all this time, yesterday i was feeling much better and decided to make a new piece.
I`m in love with the last "faces" i`ve made for the "Afterlife" line, kind of like softer and a bit more realistic, the first pieces for this line were too defined and heavy on the make up and shadows. I`m also very happy with the latest technique i`m using for the hair, this one was going to be used just on my "Fashionista in technicolor" line but i decided to use it in "Afterlife" too with lovely results.

No more talking, here is the piece:

I got inspiration from these 2 pictures:

As a former goth kid myself, she is one of my icons, i really love the results, every time i make a new piece i try to improve my technique, hope you guys like it too.
